About me
I'm Kathleen, a designer in Boston, MA. I am interested in using human-centered design to promote public health, equity, and civic engagement.
Currently, I'm a U.S. Digital Corps Fellow leading human-centered design at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' InnovationX. I use storytelling and qualitative data to drive solutions to public health problems. Previously, I worked at the Boston Public Health Commission in the Office of Public Health Preparedness. I created content for the Office's online portals, produced educational modules and digital media, and researched emerging technologies to assist the office in its mission of community resilience and preparedness. I am also an alum of SPARK Boston, the city's appointed civic engagement council for young residents. I hold an MA in Media Design from Emerson College's Engagement Lab. For my thesis, I partnered with the City of Boston Mayor's Office of Recovery Services to co-create a youth substance prevention initiative. I also hold a BA in Art History and Global Perspectives from Bridgewater State University. I live in Boston with my husband and our dog, Jackie. You can find me riding the T, scouring used bookstores for my next read, and visiting art museums. |
